Today’s featured artist is Isaac Ilyich Levitan. He was a Russian landscape painter in the 19th century. He lived from 1860 to 1900. I do not know a lot about him but I thought you would enjoy his works.

How to Render

Many of you have been asking me about what books and DVDs I recommend for different skills in art. So I have decided to start posting information on the art books and art DVDs  I recommend. So to start off with I thought I would post about Scott Robertson wonderful DVDs on shading and rendering from the Gnomon Workshop.  His rendering and shading DVD series consists of three DVDs. And I would recommend you get all three and watch them several times. This set is a must for any artist. Below are direct links to each DVD at Amazon.
